South African Kendo Federation (SAKF)

The intention is to host a national kendo competition that will have a 1st place, 2nd place and joint 3rd place winners. Our space requirement is a 11 x 11 meter area that is preferably laden with a wooden floor and with high ceilings.

Estimated number of athletes to attend: +- 50 competitors

The SAKF is the representative body for Kendo, Iaido, and Jodo in South Africa and is affiliated to the Martial Arts South Africa (MASA), the International Kendo Federation (FIK) and the European Kendo Federation (EKF).
Furthermore, the SAKF is a non-political, non-profit friendly organization for its related martial arts regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, age, creed or belief.

The SAKF has as its main aims:

1. The promotion and development of Kendo, Iaido and Jodo in South Africa.
2. The fostering of mutual trust, friendship and respect amongst its members.
3. The active encouragement of international links and tours.
