About Rugby 7

"Rugby Sevens (commonly known simply as Sevens), and originally known as seven-a-side rugby, is a variant of rugby union in which teams are made up of seven players playing seven-minute halves, instead of the usual 15 players playing 40-minute halves. Sevens is the fastest growing sport on the continent and worldwide.

The game is played with seven players on the field and 5 reserve players. Because we play the game in amateur status we allow rolling subs instead of the normal substitution laws. This allow all players to have equal playing time on the field.

The shorter match length allows rugby 7’s tournaments to be completed in a day or a weekend. Many 7’s tournaments have a competition for a cup, a plate, a bowl, and a shield, allowing many teams of different standards to avoid leaving empty-handed.
